The Rwanda Transport Development Agency (RTDA) is a public agency under the Ministry of Infrastructure tasked with implementing road and transport infrastructure development projects in Rwanda. It was created in 2010 as part of a transport sector reform program to improve efficiency and project execution capacity.
RTDA’s mission is to develop and maintain a safe, sustainable, and integrated transport infrastructure system that supports Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation. RTDA oversees road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects, often funded through public-private partnerships and international development financing. The agency also promotes standards, innovation, and community engagement in transport planning.
